The International Cricket Council has published the ticket ballot for the Cricket World Cup 2027, and fans from around the globe are eligible to register beginning October 1, 2026. Fans have nearly seven weeks to submit their applications, as the entrance window remains open until November 21, 2026.
At the same time as the ballot launch, the official match schedule was disclosed at the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa in Cape Town. South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia will jointly host the 14th edition of the Men’s Cricket World Cup, marking the first time in 23 years that the tournament will revisit Africa.
From October 4 to November 21, 2027, 57 matches will be played at 12 locations by 14 countries. The Men’s Cricket World Cup will be hosted by three countries, which is the most extensive geographic distribution on the African continent.
What is the process for the ticket ballot for the Cricket World Cup 2027?
Voter registration is not conducted on a first-come, first-served basis and is free of charge. A fan who registers on the last day has an equal chance as one who enrols on the first day, as every legitimate application submitted between October 1 and November 21, 2026, is equally weighted.
Each match is considered a distinct ballot entry, and supporters are permitted to submit applications for tickets to multiple events. At the time of application, applicants have the option to specify their preferable seating category and request a maximum of four tickets per match.
When the number of applications for a specific event exceeds the number of tickets available, a random lottery is conducted to determine which applicants are able to purchase tickets. Those who are selected will receive an email notification and be assigned a deadline to complete the transaction. Fans are only eligible to purchase tickets if their entry is drawn; it does not guarantee tickets.
The ballot is accessible to cricket enthusiasts worldwide and encompasses matches scheduled in all three host countries, rendering it a genuinely global opportunity.
What is the significance of the Cricket World Cup 2027 for African cricket?
